2. What this website is – and what it does not do
charee.de is a preview without any sales function. There is no cart, no ordering and no customer account. No analytics, marketing or social media services are embedded: no Meta pixel, no TikTok pixel, no Google Analytics, no heatmaps, no third-party videos or maps, no external fonts. All fonts and images are served by the website itself. This is also why there is no cookie banner: nothing is loaded that would require consent.
3. Hosting and server logs
The website runs on the Shopify platform. The contracting party is Shopify International Limited, Victoria Buildings, 1–2 Haddington Road, Dublin 4, D04 XN32, Ireland, acting as processor (Art. 28 GDPR). Shopify may transfer data to affiliated companies, in particular Shopify Inc. in Canada (EU adequacy decision) and Shopify (USA) Inc. Transfers are based on standard contractual clauses and, where certified, the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. Further information: shopify.com/legal/privacy.
When a page is requested, Shopify processes technically necessary data: IP address, date and time, page requested, browser and operating system, referring page. The purpose is delivering the website and keeping it secure and stable (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). These data are not merged with other data.
4. Cookies and browser storage
Shopify sets strictly necessary cookies only, for example for the session, the chosen language and the record that no consent has been given. These cookies are required to operate the website (§ 25(2) no. 2 TDDDG). No analytics or marketing cookies are set. For visitors from the EU, Shopify's own statistics are configured so that no analytics data is collected without consent – and consent is not requested. The theme of this website stores nothing in your browser's local storage; Shopify platform scripts may place strictly necessary entries in session or local storage that do not enable tracking.
5. Waitlist (email sign-up with double opt-in)
If you sign up on the “Waitlist” page, we process your email address and – optionally – your first name. After signing up you receive an email with a confirmation link. Only your click on that link makes the entry effective (double opt-in). The time of sign-up and of confirmation and the IP address used are stored so that consent can be evidenced.
Purpose: information before the launch of CHARÉE, at the launch and afterwards the CHARÉE newsletter. The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, § 7(2) no. 2 UWG). You can withdraw consent at any time – via the unsubscribe link in every email or by writing to support@charee.de. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before it.
Storage period: until withdrawal. Entries not confirmed within 14 days are deleted. Processing and sending of the confirmation email take place via Shopify (processor, see section 3). No additional email service provider is currently used; should this change, this notice will be updated beforehand.
6. Campaign origin
If you reach the waitlist through a campaign link, the address may contain identifiers (for example film, utm_source, utm_campaign). On sign-up, only such an identifier from a fixed, short list is stored as a tag with your entry (for example “film:06a”). The purpose is to recognise which motif led to the sign-up (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). No usage profile is created, nothing is stored in the browser and nothing is transmitted to third parties. The tag is deleted together with the entry.
7. Contact by form or email
If you write to us through the contact form or by email, we process your name, first name, email address and the content of your message in order to answer it (Art. 6(1)(b) or (f) GDPR). The form is transmitted via Shopify (section 3); the mailboxes of the domain charee.de are hosted by our email provider in Germany. Messages are deleted once the matter is settled and no statutory retention obligations apply.
8. Recipients
Recipients of personal data are only the processors named in this notice. No data is passed on to other third parties unless we are legally obliged to do so.
9. Your rights

10. Changes
This notice applies to the preview operation. Before advertising tracking, a shop or further services are activated, it will be replaced – and where required, consent will be obtained before anything is loaded.
