Commitment
This website is meant to be usable by everyone – regardless of device, input method or assistive technology. The benchmark is conformance level AA of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2. charee.de is a preview without any sales function; the requirements of the German Accessibility Strengthening Act (BFSG) are implemented voluntarily and from the start, so that the later shop does not need rebuilding.
What is in place
- Full keyboard operation with a visible focus indicator (2 px, Azur) and a skip link to the content
- Semantic structure: landmarks, a logical heading order, labelled form fields, error and success messages announced to screen readers
- Contrast above AA, for body text above AAA (Encre on Crème 14.1 : 1; Azur on Crème 8.5 : 1)
- Text resizing up to 200 % and reflow down to 320 px width without loss of content or function
- Reduced motion: anyone choosing “reduce motion” in their system receives a complete version without animation
- Alternative text for all content-bearing images; purely decorative elements are hidden from assistive technology
- Touch targets of at least 44 × 44 px, the language switch as a labelled control, correct language tagging (German/English)
- No information conveyed by colour alone; no auto-playing video or sound
Testing
Before publication the website was tested with automated tools (axe, Lighthouse) and manually (keyboard, screen magnification, reduced motion, screen reader structure) in Chrome, Firefox and Safari/WebKit and on mobile devices. No known limitations exist at the time of this statement.
